 Advanced Promotions

Enhanced Data Access: Allows the merchant to configure promotions based on all product, shopper, and order level data elements. For example, you can create a promotion for all items with a shared searchable attribute or vendor code for a specified time period. Specifically, using a searchable attribute "Season", a discount can be applied to all products from the WINTER2010 season. Vendor Code discounts make it possible to discount products from a single brand with one promotion.

Re-Usable Complex Criterion: Allows the merchant to select multiple criteria within the promotion and combine them through "and" and "or" statements using qualifiers like equals, contains, does not contain, begins with and does not begin with. The merchant can then name that criterion for use on future promotions. For example, you can establish a promotion that requires the purchase of two different products like shoes and socks together or a shipping promotion where the shopper must spend over a certain dollar amount and ship to the US to get a discount.

Controllable Discount Codes:  Allows the merchant to control whether a discount code is good for all shoppers or a specific shopper, along with the ability to set a usage limit for a specific code. For example, you can create a discount that only applies to the first 50 customers with a specified promotional code and promotional codes are no longer case sensitive.

Flexible Award Options: Allows the merchant to go beyond just dollar and percent discounts, with options including auto-added bonus items, tiered discounts, subtotal discounts, shipping discounts and even discount code awards which encourage shoppers to return to the site with a coupon for a future purchase. For example, you can set a promotion where a shopper gets $10 off an order of $100 or more for a future purchase.

Advanced Promotions

Managed Interactions:
This allows the merchant to determine how multiple promotions interact with one another. This includes the ability to make them exclusive or limited in their interactions to excluding multiple discounts on the same item based on the same qualifying purchase or of the same award type. For example, you can specify that a particular promotion is not valid in combination with any other promotions.
Isolated Exclusion Rules: Allows the merchants to configure system wide exclusions for products that will prevent those items from triggering promotions or qualifying for discounts. For example, you can specify that a certain brand would never be included in any promotions.

Front-end Display Integration:
Promotion descriptions are incorporated into the product information display throughout the checkout process, along with discount code validation that provides a shopper feedback on their code usage. For example, you can identify a loyal customer and display a message like "Great to see you again, enjoy 50% off your next purchase" and give the shopper a promotional code for later use.
In order to target specific audiences, you are able to build and reuse complex expressions about WHO is eligible, WHY, and WHAT their award is.  Promotions are time-boxed so they start and stop automatically based on the rules you set.

**Transitioning to Advanced Promotions requires some planning. First you must be on UniteU Connected Commerce version 5 platform.  If you have not yet taken this step, you might consider our v5 Express option which offers a shortened delivery schedule using a best-of-breed fixed design. The typical process requires switching Advanced Promotions on in your staging environment, configuring all required promotions and testing them.  Mark-up changes on the User Interface are required on the basket and checkout pages.  UniteU professional services team can do this in parallel with your testing.  Upon completion of testing, UniteU will enable Advanced Promotions on your production site so you can Go Live. This platform feature is included but budget $500 for four hours of labor required to modify the pages. In addition we are introducing a new group training session to help you make the most of this new capability.
