Web Developer

UniteU Technologies, Inc (www.uniteu.com) is looking for an experienced .net web developer who has an intense focus on the end user experience. UniteU, based in Rochester, NY, is a growing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of ecommerce services to brick-and-mortar specialty retailers. We are seeking a talented team player who can perform well in a distributed work environment and provide exceptional service to our growing customer base. UniteU's culture is extremely dynamic, fun, and fast-paced. Working as part of the virtual production team, the web developer gets lots of exposure to new ideas and technologies, collaborates with other developers and ecommerce consultants, and works directly with customers.

Major Responsibilities


    Implement standards compliant ecommerce websites using ASP.NET web controls, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and other technologies.
    Analyze and provide feedback to project managers on design concepts focusing on feasibility, usability, data integration and maintenance
    Generate web-optimized images from Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools
    Participate in peer quality assurance reviews
    Develop reusable, maintainable, scalable solutions to complex data and content display requirements
    Provide concise documentation on usage and maintenance of custom solutions
    Provide level of effort estimates for non-standard work requested by merchant customers
    Troubleshoot issues that shoppers may encounter when interacting with our ecommerce applications
    Isolate and define clear, accurate problem statements and escalate to the appropriate internal resource if needed.
    Research and provide informed opinions on third-party controls and plug-ins

Job Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related area
    1-3 years experience with the following: ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Photoshop (or other design software), data-driven websites, content management systems, code frameworks such as jQuery and YUI
    Familiarity with C#, AJAX, JSON, XML, SQL technologies, usability principles
    Strong debug and troubleshooting skills
    Strict attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, virtual working environment

 






Windows Systems Administrator

UniteU Technologies, Inc is looking for an experienced Windows Systems Administrator who has an intense focus on implementing and supporting state-of-the-art technology/infrastrucure for the benefit of our customers.

Scope and Responsibility:


Participate in the research, planning, implementation, testing and ongoing administration and maintenance of the production systems infrastructure employed by UniteU to deliver ecommerce services to our customers. Provide systems administration support (PC operating systems, hardware, Office suite and other applications, etc.) to UniteU employees in support of their job functions. Perform specified tasks required to establish infrastructure specific to a customer installation. Provide direct customer support for issues they may encounter which are of a system infrastructure (versus application) nature. Participate in the 24 / 7 support of the infrastructure (member of on call rotation).The successful applicant will have extensive experience in the administration of Microsoft Windows Server-based networks and technologies, such as Active Directory, Internet Information System (webservers, Secure Sockets Layer, etc), clustered SQL Server, Domain Name System, Hyper-V, etc. as well as sound experience configuring and testing Cisco networking products/technologies (firewalls, switches, etc)


Position Requirements:


    Two year (e.g. AAS) degree or equivalent experience
    Three or more year’s experience in the configuration and administration / maintenance of production Windows servers /
    Infrastructure and Cisco networking technologies/products.
    Experience in taking and analyzing network packet traces
    Able to diagnose and remedy infrastructure-related problems and failures promptly and effectively
    Able to work independently in a virtual team / work environment
    Good prioritization and time management skills
    Good verbal and written communication skills
    Able to work a flexible schedule as warranted (i.e. support rotation, off-hours infrastructure modifications)
    Ability to work with / support UniteU's customers as well as internal employees
    Windows administrative programming/scripting experience - Windows Command Shell, Windows Script Host (WSH), Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Power Shell, etc for creation/maintenance of tools used to manage our infrastructure.
    Attitude of continuous improvement - always looking for ways to increase productivity, quality and customer satisfaction while reducing waste
    Flexible - able to quickly learn and become effective at the implementation and support of in-house developed or 3rd party technologies in support of our business
    Experience in the installation (cabling, etc) and support of rack-mounted servers in a data center environment


Pluses:

    Windows (MCSE) and Cisco Certifications
    Systems administration experience for Internet / ecommerce platforms
    Network security training/experience

        **A 4-Year College Degree is Preferred

Support Engineer 

UniteU Technologies, Inc (www.uniteu.com) is looking for an experienced customer Support Engineer who has an intense focus on proving excellent support to UniteU’s customers and internal team members. UniteU, based in Rochester, NY, is a growing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of ecommerce services to brick-and-mortar specialty retailers. We are seeking a talented team player who can perform well in a distributed work environment and provide exceptional service to our growing customer base. UniteU's culture is extremely dynamic, fun, and fast-paced. Working as part of the virtual support team, the Support Engineer works directly with customers, collaborates with other UniteU team members and gets lots of exposure to new ideas and technologies.


Responsibilities:
Work with the support team to provide direct support via phone and email/IM to over 200 e-commerce customers located across the United States and in a few international locations. Research and resolve issues that customers may encounter in utilizing our e-commerce applications. Update or generate documentation on our applications for use internally and by customers. Contribute to the development of new software releases as necessary by providing requirements and testing new features. Become the subject matter expert in certain aspects of our platform or of third party services. Participate on various internal project teams to improve customer service and/or internal operations.The successful applicant for this position will have a strong customer focus, and will be a fast-learning self-starter who requires minimal direction to accomplish day-to-day work tasks. Candidates must possess strong communication and troubleshooting skills that will aid them in helping merchants make the best use of our e-commerce applications. Flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are key.
 

Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to manage personal queue of customer support incidents, prioritizing based upon nature of incident, etc. Follow up with customers and internal team members as needed to resolve customer issues/requests.
Ability to define, troubleshoot and where possible correct issues that merchants encounter related to their e-commerce website. If unable to correct the issues directly, isolate the issues and define clear, accurate problem descriptions for internal team members.
Flexible; able to multi task as well as to work on a variety of tasks/projects in addition to direct customer support. Such tasks/projects may include performing QA testing for a software release or customer website, participating on a team working on internal process improvement tasks, etc.
Able to context switch among tasks as needed due to priority of incoming events.
Proficiency with Windows-based PC’s; MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and Access); Firefox, IE, and other major browsers.

Preference will be given to candidates that have experience:
Writing simple SQL queries.
With basic programming skills in HTML and JavaScript.
Working in a retail or web fulfillment environment.
Providing excellent customer service.
Creating or updating documentation.
Training business customers.
Working productively in a telecommuting environment.
